Beginning in 2020, a medical student (Sim) built a wooden frame around his, not so visually appealing, surface-mounted swimming pool. His family and friends were over the moon. Finally a solution for a modern pool, without paying the price of a built-in pool of at least 50,000 euros. The newspapers loved it: “Hole in the swimming pool market” – Nieuwsblad. “Ghent student entrepreneur wins prizes” – VRT NWS. A few TikTok videos even achieved millions of views, so Simpools received requests from Belgium to Singapore.

By 2026, Simpools wants to have the possibility of their solutions in every Belgian garden and even internationally. Therefore, the team was further expanded to Benelux, France and Germany.
